When it comes to summer travel, there's always one essential we keep on hand: the Travel Body Discovery Set. Case in point: Olivia Mangrum's carry-on for her recent beach getaway, which included our coveted body care set. Below, she shares her take on travel beauty and the ins and outs of sun-kissed self-care.

What makes you feel the most beautiful?
Little to no makeup and healthy, glowing skin. An easy, comfortable, flattering outfit. A sweet glance or word from my husband.
What does self-care mean to you?
Giving myself space and time for who and what is most life-giving to me. A slow, quiet weekend. A long walk with a loved one. Plenty of sleep and water. A home-cooked meal with fresh sourdough (I’m on a bit of a sourdough kick). Uninterrupted time in scripture. A sweaty workout and an infrared sauna session, if I’m lucky.
Tell us about your morning routine.
I always start the day with my morning skincare and a quick fluff of the brows (there’s something about fluffed brows that always brings life to the face). If I’m home and not heading to a shoot that day, I love a slow morning with my husband: a nourishing breakfast, some time in the Word, a walk around the neighborhood before catching up on emails and to-dos.
What's your version of an 'everything shower'?
Davines Love curl shampoo and conditioner, a super reparative hair mask, L'occitane shower oil or Salt & Stone body wash, a quick shave, and Oak Essentials Dew Body Oil and Moisture Rich Body Balm to bring it all together.
What’s in your beauty bag on long-haul flights?
Lip balm, hand sanitizer, hand cream, facial spray and a silk scrunchie are a given. If I’m on an international flight or a red-eye headed straight to work, a brightening sheet mask and under-eye patches are certainly coming with, too.
Once you’ve arrived at your destination, do you have any non-negotiable beauty rituals?
Wash my hands and wash my face. If it’s a work trip, I never regret a quick trip to the gym or some simple movement in my hotel room–something is better than nothing! My trainer and friend Taylor Welch always tells me ‘feet up on the wall’ to drain the legs, so I’ll do that too if I remember.
How do you take care of your skin in the summer?
I’m always trying to strike the perfect balance between some time in the sun and some (equally important) sun protection. For extended time in the sun, I’ll reach for a hat and non-toxic sunscreen. I also swap my usual body wash for shower oil and body lotion for an oil as a lighter option for the warmer months.

Your first beauty memory: Having my hair curled by my mom for my first grade yearbook photo. I remember her being so proud of how it turned out, and now that I’m able to look back on those photos, I’m able to appreciate and take pride in those sweet photos (and memories) too.

Three desert-island skincare staples: Face serum/oil, sunscreen, and lip balm.

Over-packer or under-packer: My husband affectionately calls me the carry-on queen. I plan (and typically try on) every single outfit in advance. If it doesn’t fit in the roller or the duffle, it’s not coming–with the exception of international trips, of course!

Most underrated beauty tip or tool: Most underrated beauty tip or tool: The skincare underneath is just as, if not more, important than the makeup on top.
