Tell us about the inspiration behind Moisture Rich Balm.
Moisture Rich Balm was inspired by a beloved product Jenni’s facialist introduced her to years ago—her “magic in a jar”—that was eventually discontinued. Jenni was set on recreating that same nourishing, glow-giving effect with Moisture Rich Balm. It’s the product we first launched with, and it’s and still our number one bestseller to this day.
What are the benefits of a balm versus a cream moisturizer?
A balm and a cream moisturizer are fundamentally different in composition and function. A balm is oil-based—also known as an anhydrous formula—while a cream is water-based. Because of its ingredient profile and texture, a balm is heavier, more viscous, and feels more substantial on the skin. It’s designed to really seal in moisture—making it great for dry skin or achieving a natural, no-makeup glow. A balm will also leave higher shine and more luminosity.
Is this formula suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes! Moisture Rich Balm is safe for all skin types. Part of the reason why it’s so gentle is because it’s anhydrous and does not require a traditional preservative system to maintain stability (some preservative systems can be irritating to sensitive skin). Additionally, Moisture Rich Balm has been safety- and dermatologist-tested on sensitive skin with no indication of causing irritation.

Is Sea Buckthorn Oil the hero ingredient?
Sea Buckthorn Oil and Borage Seed Oil are the hero ingredients in this formula. Sea Buckthorn Oil—extracted from the berry pulp of the sea buckthorn shrub—is rich in antioxidants, helps support the moisture barrier, nourishes the skin, and supports natural repair processes. Borage Seed Oil, a flowering herb native to the Mediterranean, is another hero ingredient. It’s cold-pressed to preserve its nutrients, making it a powerful ingredient for barrier repair, protection against environmental stressors, and soothing the feeling of sensitivity.
What’s the best way to apply Moisture Rich Balm?
A little goes a long way with this concentrated formula. We recommend scooping a pea-size amount and warming it between your fingertips until it melts into an oil. Then, you can gently press your fingertips to your face, and massage in slow, circular motions down your face and neck. It also pairs well with a gua sha routine, as it provides the perfect amount of slip.
Should Moisture Rich Balm always be the last step in a routine?
Moisture Rich Balm is great as the final step in a nighttime routine, or applied more sparingly in the morning. Jenni’s pro tip is to apply Moisture Rich Balm evenly to the face, then tap 1 to 2 drops of Ritual Oil onto your cheekbones, brow bones, or anywhere you’d like some extra glow. Always be sure to follow with SPF in the morning after the formula has absorbed.
Are there any multipurpose ways to use this formula?
Absolutely. Use it to spot-treat dry patches on your face, apply it generously to soothe skin after treatments or sun exposure, massage it into your cuticles and hands, use it as an overnight mask, or even smooth a tiny amount over flyaway hairs.
What kind of results can someone expect with consistent use?
With continued use, Moisture Rich Balm helps support the moisture barrier by shielding against water loss and environmental stressors. Expect overall softness and resilience, a calmer look to redness, and glowing skin that feels deeply nourished.
