What Makes Our Clean Deodorant Different?

Like most Oak products, our new Microbiome Balancing Deodorant was a personal request from Jenni. For years, she couldn’t find a clean deodorant that worked; everything either felt wet, stained her clothes, or only masked odor. And after four years of careful formulation, we’re proud to share the final product—a deodorant that’s clean, formulated like skincare, and delivers real results. Microbiome Support

Similar to the gut microbiome, the skin microbiome is an often-overlooked indicator of whole-body health. This delicate bacterial ecosystem that lives on the surface of the skin plays a role in defending against pathogens, supporting immune function, and maintaining skin barrier function.

Because sweat is naturally odorless, it’s only when sweat interacts with bacteria on the surface of the skin—particularly when the underarm microbiome is imbalanced—that unwanted odor can develop.

When creating our new deodorant, we set out to address this root cause of odor. Our formula helps restore balance to the underarm microbiome by shifting the metabolism of odor-causing bacteria—minimizing scent before it can even begin.

Zero Aluminum  

Aluminum-based antiperspirants work by physically blocking sweat glands. Not only does this disrupt the body’s natural perspiration process, but it can also cause skin irritation.

Our formula uses Magnesium Hydroxide instead. This naturally-derived active helps absorb moisture, balance pH, and create a less hospitable environment for odor-causing bacteria. It’s a non-clogging, skin-friendly alternative that's also incredibly effective.

Sensitive-Skin Friendly  

While many clean deodorants can cause irritation, ours was specifically formulated with sensitive skin in mind. Blue Tansy, an Oak hero ingredient, helps calm and soothe delicate underarm skin while giving the formula its signature blue hue.

Upcycled Chia Seed Oil also adds lightweight hydration and supports skin healing—making this formula as gentle as it is effective.
