What inspired you to start Sarah Wragge Wellness?
After a lifetime of health issues and being overprescribed medications, I turned my health crisis into a career. By time I was 18, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and written a prescription for methotrexate. I had undergone multiple upper endoscopies and colonoscopies, all diagnosing me as “fine”. It wasn't until I discovered the power of nutrition that my life completely changed. This was the inspiration for Sarah Wragge Wellness. And after 10 years of coaching, I realized that the answer to how to feel good is routine and structure—and that the flow of your day, and those decisive domino moments can either skyrocket or derail you.
How did you first discover the benefits of alkalizing the body? Why is it so important?
My entry into wellness was my never-ending battle with acid reflux. The reflux led to bloating and constipation—and I never understood that all of the food I was consuming was acidic. When I started to eat more alkalizing foods, like leafy green veggies, fresh green juice, and raw coconut, I started to transform my health, and my reflux started to dissipate. I came to understand that having an alkalizing, purposeful moment in the morning before an acidic cup of coffee was a gamechanger for the rest of my day. Alkalizing is essential because it takes the pressure off our own natural buffering systems and helps support a balanced PH.
For those of us who drink coffee in the morning, how can we balance that with alkalizing?
I go to sleep thinking about coffee, and I wake up thinking about coffee. It's one of my favorite rituals of the day, so I would never ask you to give it up. My ask is that you try a new routine, which will help you feel more energized throughout the day, prime your body for better digestion, and help balance your blood sugar. Try this: Drink 16-23 ounces of water right after you wake up, before your feet hit the floor. Enjoy a sachet of Alkalize in 3 ounces of water (just get it down!), and then more immediately after your coffee. It sounds like a big lift to ask you to hydrate and alkalize before your morning cup of coffee, but I promise you will come to feel addicted to this new routine.
In your opinion, what does true wellness—from the inside out—really look like?
True wellness is a holistic approach. It means accounting for you as a whole person—body, mind, and soul. On the inside, fuel your body with high-quality foods that serve a purpose. Move. Be mindful of choices when you are indulging. And on the outside, use Oak Essentials for the most incredible glow!
Tell us about your typical morning routine.
My life is not very spontaneous, and I like to be mindful of which hat I am wearing and when, so I can be present and in the moment. Here it goes...

Why is clean beauty important to you?
I think about health holistically. It’s a 360-degree approach—what am I putting in my body, what am I putting on my body, what are the words I am telling myself, and what is the content I am consuming? It all adds up to creating the person you are, and I believe in being mindful and purposeful with every facet of my life.
Which Oak Essentials product is your favorite, and how do you like to use it?
Moisture Rich Balm all the way. I love taking a hot bath with my Oak Essentials Dream Bath Soak, and then while my skin is still warm, lathering my face with Moisture Rich Balm. I love how moisturizing it is—and the glowy, dewy finish makes me feel beautiful before I tuck myself in.
If you only had five minutes to ground yourself, what would you do?
I would lay on the floor with my legs up the wall. This inversion can stimulate your vagus nerve and promote relaxation. Sleep is a learned behavior. We must tell our bodies when it's time to get ready for sleep—and this is a great way to do it.
